Due to inclement weather and high chance of thunderstorms, Boys and Girls Country has made a decision to cancel the bike ride scheduled for this Saturday, April 13.
Pedal for a Purpose is an annual fundraising event that gathers cyclists, volunteers and families to enjoy the outdoors, sports and fellowship in support of local non-profit Boys and Girls Country (BGC). The proceeds of this event help more than 100 children and young adults from families in crisis.
“We wrestled with the cancelation decision, but the safety of our guests is our number one concern,” commented Executive Director Vincent Duran. “We would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers and registrants for their commitment to our children and all the support offered during this time. We would not be able to fulfill our mission without your help.”
Pedal for a Purpose is a fully-supported ride that offers three routes and gathers more than 200 cyclists in Waller, Texas. This year’s ride was supported by the following sponsors: Aaron’s, API, Tokio Marine HCC and Sim-Tex.
The Pedal for a Purpose bike ride prepares the way for the annual Spring Festival, held this year on May 4. Spring Festival is a family event with rides, games, food and entertainment. It serves as the second-largest fundraising event for the organization.
We invite you and your family to join us on Saturday, May 4 for a day full of fun activities. For more information, visit our Spring Festival page.
