Boys & Girls Country is a Christ-centered residential group home that walks alongside families, mothers, fathers, grandparents, and guardians who find themselves in seasons of hardship. Many of the families we serve are facing challenges such as substance abuse, violence, serious illness, incarceration, abandonment, or the loss of a loved one. These circumstances may create a need for resources that are costly or otherwise inaccessible to the child and family.
As a voluntary basic care campus, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and stable home where children can grow and flourish. At Boys & Girls Country, every child is approached with empathy and understanding for their unique life experiences. Our staff are trained in a trauma-informed model called Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®), which uses strategies to foster trust, nurturing relationships, and an emotionally and physically safe environment.
While we are not an emergency placement or a treatment facility for substance abuse or significant behavioral challenges, we are deeply committed to walking with children through everyday struggles offering them the love of Christ, the stability of family-style living, and the hope of a brighter tomorrow.
Because we are dedicated to long-term success, we aim to work with children placed at Boys & Girls Country long enough to see the impact of our therapeutic model. Families may need to consider placement for a minimum of one year. While we strive to work toward reunification as soon as possible, we recognize that some situations may require longer-term placement. Boys & Girls Country can serve children who wish to remain in placement through high school graduation and transition into our College & Career program, where they continue to receive support to become self-sustaining adults.
Whatever the reason a child comes to us, we see it as part of our God-given ministry to provide a home filled with love, nurture, structure, and faith. No child is ever turned away because of race, sex, religion, nationality, or a family’s inability to pay. Each placement is carefully considered to ensure that Boys & Girls Country is the right fit to meet each child’s needs while remaining true to our Christ-centered mission.
If you have a child or know a child between the ages of 5 and 17 who could benefit from the care and ministry at Boys & Girls Country, please complete the placement request form below. A member of our placement services team will reach out to you.
Boys and Girls Country helps families (mothers, fathers, grandparents, guardians) who need help. Families are often in conflict; they face issues ranging from alcohol or drug abuse, violence, serious illness, abuse, incarceration, abandonment or the death of a family member. They need help, but their children are not in the custody of the state, and they do not have money for places that require expensive fees or tuition.
We are committed to long-term success for our children. Therefore, we do request long-term placement for children and teens. Historically, some children return to a family member after two or three years, but many make the choice to remain, graduate from high school, and enter the College and Career program.
Whatever the reason children come, we are committed to fulfilling our ministry of providing a safe place to call home. No child is turned away because of race, sex, religion, nationality, sexual orientation or because their family does not have money to pay for care.
