Rooted in Grace
Boys and Girls Country of Houston invites mothers facing housing and financial crisis, and who are ready to set goals to achieve long-term stability and independence, to apply for the Rooted in Grace Program.
A pathway toward stability and independence
Each family, mother and child(ren), will work closely with the Program Manager and Director of the Rooted in Grace Program to reach the goals they set for themselves.
Goals are centered around education, employment, parenting, finances, spiritual growth and mental well-being.
Support built around long-term growth
Safe Environment
Families are welcomed into a setting designed to be structured, supportive and secure.
Personalized Goals
Mothers work with program leadership to establish meaningful goals for long-term success.
Whole-Family Care
The program is designed to support both mothers and children as they move toward independence.
What to expect
To ensure a safe, structured and supportive environment for the mothers and children in our program, our admission process includes several steps. Submitting an inquiry or application does not guarantee acceptance, and the full process may take several weeks to complete.
Initial Inquiry & Pre-Screen
The process begins with an initial inquiry and pre-screen conversation.
Complete & Submit Application
Applicants complete and submit all required materials for review.
Initial Phone Interview & Verification
Program staff conduct a phone interview and verify submitted information.
In-Person Interview
Qualified applicants move forward to an in-person interview.
Application Review & Decision
The final step is a full application review followed by a decision.
This is not an application. After completing the screener, a member of our team will connect with you to discuss next steps and answer any questions you may have.
Rooted in Grace is not an emergency shelter
Because the program is application-based and includes a multi-step admission process, placement is not immediate and acceptance is not guaranteed.
