On April 3, we held a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of our new Howard Family Cottage. This beautiful project was made possible with the generous support of the Howard Family, Caldwell Companies, HomeAid Houston and many trade vendors.
This new cottage boasts state-of-the-art appliances and energy-efficient utilities. Yet, what truly makes it invaluable is what it offers to those who will call it home. Each child will have his own bedroom, private bathroom and walk-in closet. While this may not seem significant to some, for many of our children, it marks their first experience of having a place to call their own. This level of privacy fosters a sense of safety and stability that is crucial for children who may have endured trauma or neglect.
While designing these safe havens for our children, it was essential for us to prioritize creating spaces tailored to our houseparents’ needs. Each cottage offers private quarters for both married and relief houseparents, featuring dedicated kitchen and laundry areas. These amenities enable them to utilize their off-time in a manner that truly promotes uninterrupted peace and recovery.
We are excited to see this project come to life, thanks to the faithful support of our community partners and trade vendors. We look forward to the countless memories and blessings that will unfold as we welcome a deserving cottage family to its new home!
